Challenge

Not all hatchets stay buried. While streaming software company Streamlabs and competitor OBS had moved past a years-old controversy to forge a steady partnership, members of the livestreaming community still harbored negative misconceptions about their relationship and Streamlabs as a company.

Streamlabs wanted to host a Reddit AMA with the head of the company, giving him the opportunity to clear the air and foster an open conversation with the streaming community, while also elevating his unique thought leadership.

This would be SourceCode’s first time assisting with a Reddit AMA, pushing the team to draw on professional and personal experience (AKA, being chronically online) to create a strategy for success.

Solution

SourceCode created a full AMA strategy, including a press outreach plan, social content strategy, AMA best practices, and proposed run-of-show logistics

Co-developed a “tough questions” and FAQ document to help the spokesperson prepare

Brainstormed a “cast” of users personas for seeding scripted questions during the AMA, if needed

Collaborated with the Streamlabs team on a Zoom call during the 3-hour AMA, drafting and workshopping AMA responses live
