This honor highlights the exceptional work our team executed for DataBank, a leading provider of enterprise-class colocation, connectivity, and managed services.
The Challenge
DataBank was well-known within data center media but wanted to break into broader conversations happening in national publications. Our task was to increase brand awareness and establish credibility with top-tier media by elevating DataBank’s CEO, Raul Martynek, as a thought leader on tech innovation.
The Approach
Our campaign centered on a unique angle: the hidden bottleneck in AI development caused by a potential shortage of power utilities for data centers. With AI dominating tech conversations, we uncovered this critical, yet overlooked, issue to position DataBank as an authority in the space.
By targeting AI and enterprise tech reporters at top-tier outlets and maintaining strong relationships with key trade publications, we used a blend of proactive and reactive pitching to maximize media opportunities. We also leveraged timely news moments to position Raul as an expert, ensuring DataBank’s insights stood out in a crowded AI narrative.
The Results
The results of this campaign were nothing short of remarkable:
- 16 media opportunities in April alone, including coverage in Reuters, Bloomberg, Fortune, and The Wall Street Journal.
- Over 77 pieces of coverage in 2023 and 213 pieces in 2024 to date.
- A significant increase in inbound requests from tier-1 outlets, further solidifying Raul’s position as a go-to industry expert.
